Al-Ittihad defender Ashleigh Plumptre has praised the Super Falcons for their performance against Spain in their second game of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Despite a 1-0 loss to the world champions, Plumptre believes her teammates showcased impressive defensive skills deserving of praise.

Barcelona star Alexia Putellas scored the only goal of the match in the 86th minute to secure a narrow victory for La Roja.

Although Plumptre missed the Olympics due to injury, she took to social media to commend her teammates.

“This team knows how to defend – sheesh! Good fight @NGSuper_Falcons – proud to watch,” the Al-Ittihad defender wrote on X.

The Super Falcons will face Japan in their final group game on Wednesday, July 31.
