Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen came off the bench to score the last goal as the Super Eagles thumped Benin Republic 3-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday, September 7.

Ballon d’Or nominee Ademola Lookman continued his remarkable form for the three-time African champions, scoring the remaining two goals as the Super Eagles cruised to a convincing victory at home.

It was Victor Osimhen’s first appearance for the Super Eagles since the African Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast in February.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the 25-year-old named some of his teammates he considers the fastest and most skillful.

“The fastest? Definitely Simon, Lookman, and Samuel,” Osimhen told Counter Attack Podcast.

“As for the most skillful in match situations, I’d say Boniface, Ademola, and also Iheanacho.”

Osimhen is likely to start in attack when the Super Eagles take on Rwanda in their next qualifier encounter on Tuesday, September 10.
