Victor Osimhen is on the cusp of shattering another Super Eagles record as Nigeria gears up for their penultimate game in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Having started his last two appearances from the bench, the 25-year-old has been tipped to make the starting lineup, considering his fine form for Galatasaray in recent games.

Currently on 22 goals with 37 caps, the Galatasaray striker will either equal or surpass Segun Odegbami on Nigeria's all-time top scorer chart if he scores a goal or two against Benin.

Odegbami sits second on the all-time top scorer chart with 23 goals, only behind the legendary Rashidi Yekini, who netted 37 goals.

The Super Eagles are a point away from securing qualification for the next edition of the Nations Cup as they take on Benin Republic and Rwanda in their last two qualifier matches.

Augustine Eguavoen's side is currently leading Group G with 10 points after 4 games, ahead of Gernot Rohr's side with six points in second place.

Rwanda is on five points, with Libya languishing at the bottom of the group with just a point.
