Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has reacted to rumours surrounding her retirement from international football.
Several reports have circulated in Nigerian media suggesting that the Bay FC striker has called time on her international career.
The misleading reports reportedly originated from a fake Facebook account posing as the six-time African Footballer of the Year.
Responding to the claims, the former Barcelona Femeni star took to social media to humorously debunk the rumours.
In a post on her Instagram, the 30-year-old wrote in Pidgin:
“The day I catch that journalist… ogun kill am.”
Oshoala is currently with the Super Falcons squad in Morocco for the ongoing African Women’s Cup of Nations.
The nine-time African champions will face current title holders Banyana Banyana of South Africa later today (Tuesday, July 22) at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
