Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala carried her brilliant goals scoring form into 2023, after she found the back of the net in Barcelona Femeni’s 4-0 victory over Sevilla Femeni on Saturday night.

The five-time CAF Women’s Footballer of the year also had one assist and has been firing for Barcelona in recent weeks.

The former Arsenal player was so excited to start the year on a scoring.

“Starting the year right, ALHAMDULILAH,” Oshoala said on her Twitter handle.

The 28-year-old Nigeria forward has now scored five goals with one assist in 12 appearances for Barcelona in Spain’s Primera Division Women League this season.

Barcelona sit top of Spain’s Primera Division Women League with 39 points from 13 matches and they are in blistering form and have won all their league matches this season.

Oshoala opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 11th minute with a superb shot.

She then created the assist for Claudia Pina, who slotted the ball inside the net to put Barcelona two goals ahead.

The Spanish champions could have made it three in the first half, but Pina missed a penalty.

A second-half brace from Salma Paralluelo sealed a comfortable 4-0 win for Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
