Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala is close to achieving a historic feat with club team Barcelona Femeni.

The Spanish giants are close to recording an astonishing 50 games winning streak, the most managed by any team in the history of the beautiful game.

Oshoala hit a brace as the Blaugranas dispatched Sporting Club de Huelva in the league last Saturday, January 14.

Spanish striker Mariona Caldentey added another as the champions extended their winning streak in the Spanish women's league to 49 games.

The Catalan giants last failed to win a league game back in June 2021 when they were beaten 4-3 by Athletico Madrid.

Oshoala and co will be presented with a golden opportunity to make history on January 25, when they take on Levante Las Planas in the Spanish women's league.

It will be the longest league-winning streak ever achieved by any team if Barcelona Femeni hit the magical 50 against their opponent.

From the Nigerian perspective, Oshoala has been instrumental in this achievement, the Super Falcons striker scored 20 league goals last season to win the Pichichi.
