Nigeria striker Gift Orban hit a perfect hat trick for Gent in their 5-0 demolition of Pogon Szczecin in their Europa Conference League qualifier, Soccernet reports.

Orban has been blowing minds away with his remarkable goalscoring prowess since he joined Gent in January.

The 21-year-old striker scored 20 goals in 22 appearances for the Buffalos last season, and he has aptly continued from where he stopped.

The former Stabaek man scored in back-to-back games for Gent against Zilina and Kortrijk, but he was benched for the next two games against KV Mechelen and Zilina.

Earlier this week, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed Tottenham’s interest in Orban, and there were talks that Spurs were willing to pay €30million. However, nothing yet has come out from those talks.

Orban made the starting eleven for his side when they welcomed Polish team Pogon Szczecin in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League qualifier, and he showed his ability once again.

The 21-year-old hitman opened the scoring for Gent in the 13th minute. He showed his striker’s instinct, reacting quickest to a rebound in the box to send the ball home from close range.

Then the second goal was just pure class, as Orban showed his pace, desire, and resilience. Despite being 5″10, he used his body well and jumped quicker than a taller Pogon Szczecin defender to head in a ball that was bubbling in the box.

Hugo Cuypers then added two goals to make it four for Gent just before the break.

Orban finally got his hattrick in the 64th minute, as he received a nice pass from Hong Hyun-Seok and ran towards goal from the right side of the pitch.

The Nigerian was marked by a defender, but he managed to squeeze a shot after driving into the box. The pace of the shot was just too much, and it nestled into the left corner of the visitors’ net.

His goal was the final goal of the game, and it sealed their 5-0 victory. Gent will travel to Poland for the second leg next week.
