Nigeria's Women's U-20 team, Falconets suffered a surprise defeat at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica.

After an impressive record in the group phase which saw Nigeria win all three matches, the Falconets crashed out of the tournament after a shocking 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands.

The defeat has left many Nigerians and Falconets followers across the globe very disappointed considering the performance they displayed at the group stages which saw them edge out France, South Korea, and Canada.

In this write-up, we look at the contribution of the two attacking players who formed the backbone of the Falconets' success from the qualifying round to their last outing in the tournament proper.

Esther Onyenezide and Flourish Sebastine have been phenomenal to the team, contributing over 50 percent of the team's goals.

The duo played a total of 11 matches from the qualifying stages to their last outing against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals.

Out of the 11 matches, both Onyenezide and Sebastine combined produced 16 goals out of the team's 30 goals scored.
