Onyenezide, Demehin, two other Falconets stars earn Super Falcons call-up for US double-header

Four Super Falconets stars have been handed a call-up by coach Randy Waldrum to join the Super Falcons team ahead of their back-to-back friendly matches against the United States Women's National Team.

Falconets captain Oluwatosin Demehin and Rofiat Imuran have been recruited to join the defence, whereas Esther Onyenezide and Deborah Abiodun will be part of the midfielders.

The Falconets were knocked out at the quarter-finals of the just-ended FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup held in Costa Rica after they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands.

The Super Falcons team have landed in Kansas City, United States as per the PUNCH.

The team will take on the USWNT on Saturday, September 3 at the Children’s Mercy Park, Kansas City in the first friendly.

The return encounter will happen three days later at the Audi Field in Washington, D.C. on September 6.

Both teams have qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup which will be hosted by Australia and New Zealand between July and August next year.

Nigeria will come up against the most successful women's national team in the world.

The UNWNT have won the World Cup on four different occasions.
