James Ward-Prowse was the difference between both sides as his first-half free kick secured the vital win for Southampton. The English midfielder in the first half, added time sent a curling effort over the Chelsea wall and into the corner from the edge of the penalty area.

The Saints will hope the result can kick-start their attempt to escape relegation, while Chelsea remains without a win in the last five games, winning just two games in their last 14 in all competitions.
