A section of Nigerian fans has taken to social media to shower encomiums on Super Falcons legendary striker Asisat Oshoala after she helped the country clinch its 10th African Women's Championship title.
Featuring in her sixth tournament, the 30-year-old scored Nigeria’s first goal of the campaign during their 3–0 thrashing of Tunisia.
The former Barcelona Femeni striker started Nigeria’s first two matches before coming off the bench in both the quarter-final against Zambia and the final against Morocco.
The recent triumph marked Oshoala’s fourth WAFCON title, having previously lifted the trophy with Nigeria in 2014, 2016, and 2018.
Her trophy cabinet is a sight to behold, as she has achieved the remarkable feat of winning 25 trophies for both club and country.
The former Arsenal forward has also claimed an astonishing 23 individual awards, including a record six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year honors.
Following her latest triumph under Coach Justine Madugu, many Nigerians took to social media to celebrate a true legend of the game.
