Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has narrated how he got his now-famous nickname 'Uncle ken'.

Speaking in an exclusive chat with Brila.net, the CD Leganes defender said his national teammates, Ola Aina, and Nathaniel Chalobah gave him the name when he was at Chelsea.

Omeruo said: “It started with Aina ( Ola) and Chalobah ( Nathaniel) in the Chelsea dressing room because they were younger and would call me uncle Kay and that’s how it continued into the National Team”,

Recalled Omeruo, Ola Aina, Nathaniel Chalobah, Andrea Christensen and other top talents shared the same dressing at Chelsea during their formative period.

Omeruo signed for Chelsea from Standard Liege in 2012 and went on to spend seven years at the club, but failed to make a single senior appearance.

He spent most of his time on loan at Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa, Ado Den Haag, Alanyaspor, before sealing a permanent transfer to CD Leganes after a successful loan spell, Brila.net reports.
