Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has maintained belief in his first choice goalkeeper - David De Gea's mentality to fight off criticisms following his recent errors.

The Red Devils crashed out of the FA Cup following a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea thanks to two blunders from the Spaniard.

"This is not going to become a David de Gea press conference," Solskjaer said. "We are just going to stick together.

"We've got two games and we're going to focus on that.

"David is mentally strong enough to know his job is to perform in training the next day and be ready for the games.

"My job is to prepare the team for West Ham and that's what we're doing. We're not going to talk about individuals because no one here is going to feel that we put more pressure on them."

United flopped a big chance to go third on the table in the 2-2 draw againstv Southampton after the Saints scored a late minute equalizer.

They however have another chance to go fourth on Wednesday with a victory over West Ham or third if Liverpool defeat CHelsea tomorrow, provided they defeat David Moyes' side.
