Ogbomoso United FC, Adetayo Rasaq, died Tuesday, aged 24 after a brief illness.

The former Crown FC feeder team player, popularly known as Aro died seven days after the death of Crown FC player, Usman Yusuf which happened during a friendly match between his team and Gateway FC in Abeokuta.

Ogbomoso United FC had announced the death of Rasaq through their media officer, Stephen Adetunji.

Adetunji said, “With deep sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of one of our players, Rasaq Adetayo, popularly called ‘Aro.’

Crown FC also described the death of their former player as an unfortunate incident praying that God should comfort his family, friends and teammates.

The Media Officer of Crown FC, Tunji Alabi, told our correspondent that the deceased player last played for Crown FC feeder team in 2015.

Alabi said, “ He played for Crown FC feeder team about five years ago. He was not our player as at the time he passed on. He played for Ogbomoso United FC until his death. The team play in National League Amateur 2. He was their central defender at Ogbomoso United.

“He played with the likes of Yomi Adeleke, former 3SC goalkeeper, Michael Owuru They were all together in Crown FC feeder team then. May his soul rest in peace."
