Seven years ago, Nigeria legend Nwankwo Kanu showed why he was one of the deadliest strikers during his days as a footballer after netting a hat-trick at the age of forty.

Kanu showed up for a charity game between Arsenal and AC Milan legends at the Emirates on September 3, 2016, a little bulkier.

However, it in no way hindered his sharpness in front of goal as he scored three times in the Gunners' 4-2 victory.

The video of his spectacular display has popped up on social media, with the Nigerian coming off the bench to produce magic.

He was joined by former teammates Roberto Pires, Freddie Ljungberg, Emmanuel Petit and Nigel Winterburn while the team was coached by Arsene Wenger.

The game was used to raise funds for the Arsenal Foundation, which was used for charitable purposes.

Kanu opened the scoring after 27 minutes with a brilliant header from Petit's cross before Milan levelled through Christian Vieri, as reported by Sky Sports.

The former Super Eagles captain restored Arsenal's lead after the break with another thumping header before completing his hat-trick from the spot.

Ex-France winger Pires added Arsenal's fourth before Vieri halved the deficit for AC Milan.

Kanu praises Super Falcons despite World Cup exit

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Super Eagles forward, Nwankwo Kanu is proud of the Super Falcons team despite their exit from the FIFA Women's World Cup.

The nine-time African champions were eliminated at the round of 16 stage after a gallant showing against European champions England in August.

After 120 minutes, the game had to be settled on penalties, with England advancing 4-2 from the spot kicks.
