Vice-captain of Akwa United Ubong Friday has warned his mates that they are yet to achieve their aim and objectives this season.

Akwa United opened up a two points gap ahead of closest rivals Kano Pillars after holding the Sai Masu Gida to a goalless draw in Kaduna.

The draw means the Promise Keepers remain unbeaten in the last seventeen matches which is a new record in the Nigeria professional football league.

Friday who has scored two goals this season in an interview with the club’s media said the players, must not rest on their oars as nothing has been achieved.

“A lot has been said about how well we have played so far this season, the record we have set in the league, yes it’s true, that we have done all of that but we still have eleven more matches before the end of the season, so we are certainly not there yet because we still have a lot of work to do.

“We are getting closer and closer to achieving our target and the only thing we have to do to realize our season’s target is to remain focused and fight for every available point irrespective of where we are playing,” he said.

The Promise Keepers are now unbeaten in their last nine away matches this season. They have scored 31 goals and conceded just 15 goals in 26 matches.
