A section of Nigerian football fans has taken to social media to lament the poor state of the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, September 9.

A victory for the Super Eagles could see them cut the point gap with South Africa to just three points, with two matches remaining.

However, a win for Hugo Broos’ side would put them in pole position to secure their ticket to next year’s Mundial, depending on results from other Group C qualifier matches.

Bafana Bafana currently lead the pack with 16 points, ahead of Benin Republic and Nigeria, who sit on 11 and 10 points respectively.

Ahead of the cracker, many Super Eagles fans have taken to social media to express frustration over the poor quality of the Toyota Stadium pitch, after a video of the venue surfaced online.

Several Nigerians have accused South Africa of intentionally selecting a venue with substandard conditions to disrupt the Super Eagles’ free-flowing football.
