Super Eagles players have been on the move this summer, as clubs all over the world are making moves to get reinforcements to help them next season.
There have been speculations about many players in the Super Eagles fold. And while some have come to fruition, others are still cooking.
In this piece, we dive into transfers involving Super Eagles players that have happened this summer.
Moses Simon (Nantes to Paris FC)
Moses Simon is one of the Super Eagles stars who get their future sorted really early. After six impresssive years at Nantes, it was clear that he was going to leave the Yellow Canaries this summer.
He was initially linked with clubs like Olympique Marseille, Everton, Leeds United, and the Saudi Arabian Pro League. However, he moved to newly-promoted Ligue 1 club Paris FC instead. The Super Eagles star signed a three year deal, and the transfer cost Paris FC €7 million.
Frank Onyeka (FC Augsburg to Brentford)
Frank Onyeka spent last season on loan at German Bundesliga club Augsburg. But despite an impressive stint that saw him become an important player for the club, Augsburg refused to sign him.
Onyeka has now returned to Brentford. But his future still hangs in the balance, as it is unknown if new coach Keith Andrews wants him at the club. Nonetheless, more should come from that in the coming days.
Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahce to Birmingham City)
Bright Osayi-Samuel's contract at Fenerbahce expired at the end of last season, despite several attempts by the club to get him to sign a new deal.
Osayi-Samuel was linked to several clubs in Turkey, including Besiktas, but it did not work out. Eventually, the Super Eagles star made a shock switch to newly-promoted English Championship club Birmingham City. He will look to play an important role in their push for Premier League football next season.
Semi Ajayi (West Brom to Hull City)
Semi Ajayi's contract at West Brom expired at the end of last season, bringing his six-year stay at the club to an end.
He didn't stay long without a clubs though, as soon after, he joined Hull City, signing a two-year contract.
Sadiq Umar (Valencia to Real Sociedad)
Sadiq Umar joined Valencia from Real Sociedad in a six-month loan transfer in January. This came as he struggled to deliver on the pitch, especially since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament two seasons ago.
However, at Valencia, he rediscovered his form, contributing six goals in 19 appearances. Sadiq looked quite good at Valencia, and it was expected that the club would sign him permanently.
But at the end of the season, they let the Super Eagles star return to Real Sociedad.
Benjamin Tanimu (Crawley Town to Mahgreb Fez)
Benjamin Tanimu rose to prominence last year, when then-coach Finidi George called up him to the Super Eagles squad. He was at Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars at the time.
Nonetheless, he joined English League One club Crawley Town last year. But he did not play much. Then, earlier this month, the 22-year-old midfielder completed a transfer to Moroccan club Mahgreb Fez.
Adebayo Adeleye (EN Paralimniou to Volos)
Adebayo Adeleye spent last season at Cypriot club EN Paralimniou, and he was one of the best players on the team.
