Moses Simon failed to convert from three yards during Nantes home Ligue 1 match against league leaders Paris Saint Germain on Saturday, October 31.

Nantes hoped to halt PSG’s blistering form as they have won six straight games and just fifteen minutes into the encounter, the ball was squared to Simon who only needed a tap in, however he fluffed the opportunity.

He ran in for an empty goal, but tapped the ball against his own supporting leg - and just about ten minutes later, he was down with an injury to his adductors and was consequently substituted.

He only lasted 25 minutes on the pitch before leaving for Kader Bamba for the remainder of the Ligue 1 cracker.

PSG then ran riot with goals from Ander Herrera, Kylian Mpappe as well as Pablo Sabaria with the match ending 3-0 in favour of the visitors.

As a result of Simon’s injury, Nigeria's technical adviser Gernot Rohr has called up Paul Onuachu as a replacement ahead of their AFCON 2022 qualifiers this month.

This has however forced the Super Eagles boss to make an early adjustment to his team by upgrading the Genk striker from the waiting list to the main squad.

Onuachu made his debut for the three-time African kings in 2019 and has gone ahead to score just once in six appearances for them.

The German-born tactician will be counting on the 26-year-old who has already scored 9 goals and one assist in 10 Belgian Premier League so far this campaign.

Onuachu's only goal for the Super Eagles came in the early minutes of Nigeria's friendly game against Egypt in 2019.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that big Premier League clubs Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly in fresh to sign Nigerian teenage striker Michael Olise.

The 18-year-old has attracted the big clubs due to his blistering form for Sky Bet Championship side Reading, Complete Sports reports.

Olise who had his youth stints at Chelsea, Manchester City and Reading has scored 2 goals in his 10 appearances for the Royals this season so far.
