Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has spoken about the possibility of Nigeria’s AFCON semi-final clash against Morocco being decided by a penalty shootout.
The three-time African champions and the host nation will lock horns in a high-stakes encounter in Rabat, with a place in the grand finale up for grabs.
So far, only the round of 16 clash between Mali and Tunisia has been decided via penalties at the ongoing tournament.
Fans may recall that Nigeria missed out on World Cup qualification after losing to the Democratic Republic of Congo in a penalty shootout.
When asked about his plans should the game go to penalties, Chelle said:
“I will go to the mosque to pray to win if we get to a penalty shootout.”
A win for Nigeria will see them face either Senegal or Egypt in the final.
