Nigeria is a very corrupt place but I love my people – Israel Adesanya

Nigerian-born boxer, Israel Adesanya has shared his view on his beloved country Nigeria.

In an interview with Hut Boxin’ audiovisual podcast, Israel described Nigeria as a very corrupt country.

According to him, although he loves Nigerians, there are so many people in government trying to siphon money.

The Last Stylebender expressed worry over the current state of the country following the just concluded election.

“Nigeria is a very corrupt place. I love my people but it is just that the government; everyone trying to find a way to siphon money,” he said.

Adesanya made this known following his victory on April 9, 2023. He defeated his Brazilian counterpart, Alex Pereira by a knock out at UFC 287, to reclaim his Middleweight title.

The boxer was paid $3.18 million for his fight against Alex Pereira, making him the third current highest-paid UFC Fighter, behind Conor McGregor and Jon Jones.
