Nigeria has dropped one place in the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday, June 23.
The Super Eagles dropped from 30th position to 31st in the latest ranking released by the football's governing body.
Despite the drop globally, the three-time African champions maintained their status as the fourth-best team in Africa, behind Senegal, Morocco, and Tunisia respectively.
The dropped could be attributed to Nigeria's two losses in the friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador in the United States.
The Super Eagles bounced back from the two defeats to record a 2-1 and 10-0 win against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome respectively in the opening two matches of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Five times world champions, Brazil maintained number one status as the best national team in the world.
Belgium, Argentina, France, and England complete the top five best teams in the world.
