Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has admitted that facing Ghana in this month’s final 2022 World Cup playoffs against rivals Ghana won’t be easy, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Ndidi who was named in the 32-man provisional squad for the crucial encounter is also relishing a second appearance at the World Cup in Qatar having made his debut appearance with the three time African champions at the 2018 edition in Russia.

He was part of the Nigeria team that suffered a poor Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year after they crashed out in the Round of 16 to Tunisia.

Speaking ahead of the World Cup playoffs, the 25-year-old said, “It will mean a lot for us to go back to the World Cup. “But Ghana will not be easy. To be honest, we have to be careful about their whole team and not just any specific players. It will be two tough games.”

Ndidi also revealed that his club coach Brendan Rodgers hasn’t changed since Leicester City’s glorious FA Cup triumph.

Following that history-making win over Chelsea at Wembley, it has been a season of struggle for the Foxes, who have suffered disappointing exits from the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League, as well as struggling in the Premier League.

But the City midfielder says Rodgers continues to give the players belief.
