Nasarawa United ready for new NPFL season — Bala Nikyu

Bala Nikyu, Head Coach of Nasarawa United says his team will be ready to for the new NPFL season.

Nikyu made this known after his side played a test game against Nigeria’s U20 team on Friday.

The club narrowly missed out of continental qualification last season, after finishing 8th with 53 points.

However, ahead of the new season, Bala Nikyu is confident the team will pursue the ambition of finishing higher up the table.“

Concerning the new league season, we at Nasarawa United are ready, irrespective of any date agreed upon to kick start the new league season,” Nikyu said.

On the test game against Flying Eagles, the coach said :“Well, the match was good for both teams because we are preparing for the elite domestic league while they are preparing for a major tournament.

“For now, whether you win or lose isn’t the most important thing, but being able to identify the areas of weaknesses and subsequent corrections.

I do hope they will exhibit the same fighting spirit when they begin their campaign in the U20 AFCON in Egypt,” He said.According to multiple sources, the new NPFL season is expected to start in January and as an abridged format.
