Lobi Stars’ quest to extend their unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League will face a stern test when they host Abia Warriors at the Lafia City Stadium in a matchday four fixture on Saturday (today), Saturday PUNCH reports.

The Makurdi based outfit head into this fixture against their visitors having recorded two draws away and a win at home, to place seventh in the NPFL table with five points.

They will look to return to winning ways in the encounter after their last game away at Katsina ended goalless.

Speaking ahead of the game, forward Tiza Samuel has hinted that the team’s target is to win as the players are working tirelessly to achieve the goal.

Samuel who has scored twice in three NPFL matches this season, also assured that the players are fired up to improve on their impressive start to the season.

“It has been a good start for me and Lobi Stars as a team,” he told the club’s media.

“Two draws away and a win at home, five points in three games we are hoping to do better.

“We have a target of winning the NPFL title and playing in the continent next season.”

Abia Warriors on their part will be eager to make two wins on the bounce in the encounter.

The Umuahia Warriors, currently third in the NPFL, defeated Kano Pillars by a lone goal in their last fixture.

At the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, the adopted ground of Niger Tornadoes, The Ikon Allah Boys will look to record their second home win of the season when they take on Bayelsa United who are without a point since their opening day thrilling win over Akwa United. The Prosperity Boys defeated Akwa United 5-3 in Yenagoa on matchday one.
