Super Eagles legend, Sunday Oliseh has described coaching the senior national team as one of his best life experiences.

Oliseh was appointed by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) as coach of the Super Eagles in 2015.

He made an impressive statistic of 14 games (Only 2 losses) 19 goals scored, and 6 conceded.

The Super Eagles legend resigned as coach for the national team in February 2016 after barely eight months in charge.

According to Oliseh, he felt the need to stay away from football and spend quality time with his family after the 2015 AFCON.

The 47-year-old revealed this during the review of his book 'Audacity to Refuse' via a special podcast on YouTube channel ATHLST hosted by Matthew Edafe.

Oliseh said: ‘’Coaching the Super Eagles was one of the best things to happen in my life. When I first started coaching the Super Eagles for a second time, the first time I felt sick was during the 2015 Nations Cup. I had to come out of the sick bed for the quarter-finals."

He continued: "When I caught the virus mumps, I saw for the first time the fear in the eyes of my wife and son. It struck me like hey! it has been football football football, you have not really been enjoying life.’’

The ex-Juventus defensive midfielder won 52 caps with the Super Eagles as a player spanning from 1993 to 2002.

Oliseh has been appointed as the new manager for the German club, Sav Straelen.
