Former Nigerian midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju has reacted to comments made by Austin Okocha about the strength of the Super Eagles midfield.

Okocha in an interview with Brila.net early in the week said the current Eagles midfield set-up lacked the much-needed creativity and an anchorman that can change the direction of a football match.

Nigeria is currently stocked with the likes of Joe Aribo, Alex Iwobi, and Oghenekaro Etebo as its midfielders, however, Okocha insists neither is good enough to play the creative role for the Super Eagles.

“What the Eagles need now are natural midfielders who can create chances and change the course of a game,” Okocha said in an interview on Brila FM.

Speaking on the same platform, Adepoju disagreed with the posture of the former Bolton captain.

Adepoju, in his own opinion, believes the Rohr-led Eagles side is blessed with top midfielders who are all trying their best for the country, according to Brila.net.

However, the headmaster feels the breakage in the transmission is still a problem but the team has good midfielders in Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo, Peter Etebo, and Alex Iwobi.
