‘Musa can quit Pillars any time’

Kano Pillars chairman, Yahaya Surajo, says Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, is free to leave the club any time he gets an offer from Europe.

Musa rejoined Pillars on April 13, until the end of the 2020/21 season but his contract includes a clause that allows him to leave once he finds a club in abroad, Surajo said.

With the transfer window in Europe already in full swing, Musa looks set for trials overseas and Surajo says he is free to leave since he is only offering free services to the club.

“We all know how important (Ahmed) Musa has been to the club, we would love to see him stay till the end of the season, but he is free to leave the moment he gets an offer with any European club,” Surajo told The PUNCH.

“Musa is still a Kano Pillars player, he still trains with us, he played last week in Kaduna, so definitely, he is still with us. “What is written in his contract with us is that he can leave any time. The moment he gets any offer, he can notify us and leave. He does not need a notice, he just gives us written information and he can leave.”

Musa is yet to score for Sai Masu Gida since rejoining his boyhood club. The forward, who left Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr in October 2020, is currently valued at €4m, according to Transfermarket.
