Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has expressed his delight after making the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The 27-year-old was one of the surprise inclusions by head coach Eric Chelle after unveiling his final 28-man squad for the AFCON finals last week.

The Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper has not featured for the Super Eagles since the 2023 AFCON in Cote D'Ivoire.

Many expected Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye to make the cut and possibly start in goal for Nigeria but the former Watford goalkeeper was dropped leaving many questions on the mind of fans.

Uzoho arrived at the Super Eagles camp on Sunday, December 14, and expressed how thrilled he is to return to the team.

“I missed quite a lot. But like I think I missed the boys to be honest. I missed the boys. I missed the vibe in the camp, you know, because we’ve been quite a lot together,” he told the Super Eagles media.
