Kylian Mbappe has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo's sensational overhead kick against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League as the greatest goal he's ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

As he gears up for a return to club football following the international break, Mbappe believes Ronaldo's remarkable strike against the Serie A giants eclipses any other goal he has seen.

While it's somewhat easier for the Frenchman to select a goal from Ronaldo's extensive collection due to his admiration for the current Al-Nassr captain, it's worth noting the veteran's extraordinary feat left a lasting impression on virtually everyone in the football world, including the opposing side.

Ronaldo's remarkable overhead kick

Back in 2018, when he was a Real Madrid forward, Ronaldo produced a goal for the ages, playing a pivotal role in his club's resounding 3-0 victory against Juventus.

After drawing first blood in the first leg of the quarter-final between two of Europe's powerhouses, the Portuguese star added an astonishing exclamation mark to his performance with a remarkable bicycle kick, per the Guardian.

In the 64th minute, Ronaldo - despite moving away from the goal - soared into the air to connect acrobatically with a cross from Dani Carvajal.

His flawless overhead kick left the legendary Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon utterly powerless.

When asked about the most remarkable goal he's ever witnessed, Mbappe said per Getty Cristiano: "The goal of Ronaldo against Gigi (Buffon)."

To provide context, Mbappe revealed that even the goalkeeper between the opposing sticks at the time praised the strike when they became teammates at PSG during their interactions.

"I had the chance to play with Gigi, and he talked to me about it and the feeling he had when it happened during this legendary goal, so I would say this one."
