Reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman has reportedly rejected Atalanta's new contract offer amid interest from Inter Milan.
As reported by Sky Sports, Atalanta made a final attempt to retain the Super Eagles winger by matching Inter Milan's contract offer for him but the player insisted on joining the Nerrazzuri.
Inter Milan's initial bid of €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons for the Nigerian international was rejected by Atalanta.
The Bergamo-based club is holding out for a higher fee, reportedly in the region of €50 million.
Inter are keen to finalize the deal this week, ahead of the Serie A campaign kicking off next month.
It remains to be seen if Inter Milan will submit an improved bid for the former Leicester City forward.
