Spanish champions Real Madrid have confirmed that Frenchman Kylian Mbappe will be out for three weeks due to injury.
The 25-year-old suffered an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg during Los Blancos’ 3-2 victory against Deportivo Alaves in the Spanish La Liga on Tuesday, September 24.
Mbappe was on target for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the 40th minute, netting his 5th La Liga goal of the season.
The former PSG man was withdrawn in the 80th minute and is set to miss Real Madrid’s upcoming fixtures against Atletico Madrid, Lille, and Villarreal.
Mbappe will, however, be back in time for El Clasico against rivals Barcelona on October 27.
In a statement, the club wrote, “Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.”
