The Super Eagles of Nigeria are hosting Rwanda in a 2026 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, in their bid to keep their qualification hopes alive.

The three-time African champions cannot afford to drop any more points following South Africa's commanding 3-0 victory away against Lesotho on Friday, September 5.

Bafana Bafana currently lead the Super Eagles by nine points and sit comfortably at the top of the group.

A victory for Eric Chelle's side will see them close the gap on South Africa to six points ahead of the cracker on Tuesday, September 9.

Ahead of the encounter, head coach Eric Chelle has named his starting lineup for the clash.

Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, as usual, starts in goal for Nigeria, with Benjamin Fredrick, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, and Bruno Onyemaechi making up the back four.

Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and Moses Simon will form the midfield quartet, with Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman leading the line.

Skipper William Troost-Ekong is on the bench for Nigeria today, with Benjamin Fredrick getting the nod.
