Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp is in firm support of Taiwo Awoniyi's potential move to Premier League newcomers, Nottingham Forest.
The Liverpool boss remains a huge fan of the 24-year-old despite his permanent departure from the Reds in the summer of last season following seven different loan spells with FSV Frankfurt, NEC Nijmegen, Mouscron, Gent, Mouscron again, Mainz and finally Union Berlin.
Forest secured promotion to the English topflight via the play-offs and have since shown keen interest in the Union Berlin striker.
The Telegraph reports that, Awoniyi is close to a move to newly promoted Nottingham Forest for a reported fee of £17.5million.
Awoniyi joined the club based in the German capital on a permanent deal last summer and has since shone, bagging 20 goals across all competitions last term.
