Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo has assured Nigerians of victory ahead of the AFCON qualifiers opener against Sierra Leone on Thursday (today) June 9 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
According to the 28-year-old, the Super Eagles team is well prepared for the encounter referring to their camp as one the best so far, as reported by PUNCH.
Speaking ahead of the game, the ex-Middlesbrough man said: “Our preparation went well and we obviously are here in Abuja which has come to become one of our best home camps so far.
“We are looking forward to going into the game against Sierra Leone to win because we messed up last time out after failing to qualify for Qatar 2022.
“So, I think we need to assure Nigerians that we still have the zeal to play for the country and to win,” he said.
Omeruo plies his trade in Spain for Segunda Division side Leganés.
He recently presented a signed jersey to President Buhari on his visit to Madrid to engage the Spanish President in trade talks.
