Kanu opens up on how he feels about the new Super Eagles jersey

Nigerian football legend, Nwankwo Kanu has expressed how he feels about the new Super Eagles jersey.

The jersey which was designed by Nike was unveiled in the past week in New York and has seen mixed reaction from Nigerians who compared it to the one the Super Eagles used at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The home jersey was inspired by traditional agbada while the away was inspired by Onaism.

Speaking on the jersey, Kanu stated that he likes it but urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to carry ex-internationals along before deciding on such next time.

“I do like the jersey but in the future when they are doing things like this, ex-internationals should be carried along in order to feel our own opinion,” Kanu told Goal. “If not, we will accept whatever is thrown at us even if we don’t like it.”

The Super Eagles will wearing the new jersey at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 World Cup.
