German football legend Oliver Kahn has warned that Manchester United may be the wrong next step for former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.

With Michael Carrick under mounting pressure after a run of disappointing results, Nagelsmann is being discussed as a possible successor.

But Kahn argues that the club’s recent record of managerial upheaval could make the position especially challenging for a coach still building experience in top-level European football, particularly in a foreign league.

"From his perspective, it’s not an easy situation. He isn’t someone with extensive experience at the very highest level, particularly when it comes to foreign clubs. The Premier League and Manchester United haven’t exactly been known for their managerial stability in recent years," Kahn said in an interview with Sky Germany.
