Joshua vs Fury fight: Hearn confirms August 14 in Saudi Arabia

Eddie Hearn has confirmed Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury is now set for Saturday 14 August in Saudi Arabia. While the fight is still to be officially confirmed, Hearn says a revised date has now been agreed upon by all parties.

The Matchroom chief confirmed earlier this week that Saudi Arabia, which hosted Joshua’s 2019 victory over Andy Ruiz Jr, will host the Battle of Britain to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

After Hearn offered two possible dates, Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren later suggested the 7 August was an unrealistic date due to a clash with the ending of the Olympic Games and UFC 265, which takes place that same night.

"I agree with Frank for once, that is correct," Hearn told IFL TV of the 14 August date.

I spoke this week about the 7th and the 14th, the 7th was the original date that the fight was planned for but that was also the final date of the Olympics.

"So the 14th is the date. It is Eid over there at the moment and we are finalising different bits but he’s right, August 14th, Saudi Arabia."
