He is regarded as one of the fastest-rising talents in football and has been placed in the same league as Barcelona's duo of Pedri Gonzalez and Ansu Fati and Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund.

No doubt that 19-year-old Jamal Musiala is destined for great achievements, however, did you know he is of Nigerian descent?

In the article below we cast the spotlight on the youngster

Early Life

Jamal Musiala was born in Stuttgart, Germany on February 26, 2003, to a Yoruba father and a Polish-German mother.

At age 7, his family moved to the UK where he spent most of his childhood years.

He had his basic and secondary school education in England and played at the Chelsea academy for the most part of his childhood.

Club Career

At the age of 16, the ex-Chelsea wonderkid joined German giants Bayern Munich on a five-year deal despite desperate attempts from the Blues to keep the talented young man.

In June 2020, he made his Bundesliga debut against Freiburg, and he became the youngest player to feature for Bayern in the Bundesliga, aged 17 years and 115 days

The teen sensation also became the youngest-ever player to score for the Bavarians in September 2020 when he scored in Bayern Munich 8-0 demolition against Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga.

He is currently one of the trusted players in the current Bayern Munich setup.

Musiala was handed a starting role in Bayern's 2-0 win against Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League last Tuesday.

International Career

Jamal Musiala was eligible to play for Nigeria through his father's lineage.

He represented England and Germany at the youth level.

In February last year, he announced that he will be representing his birth country Germany.

He subsequently received his first call-up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Iceland where he came on as a 79th-minute substitute for the Die Mannschaft.

Style of play

Musiala is a versatile player who can play as an attacking midfielder and also on the wings.

Former Bayern Munich manager Hans-Dieter Flick describes him as a player with great vision and awareness and exceptional ball control.
