Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has set his sights on becoming the African player with the most Premier League appearances.
The 30-year-old moved into second place among African players with the most Premier League appearances after featuring for Fulham in their 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Saturday, October 31.
The Super Eagles midfielder surpassed Mohamed Salah’s record of 328 appearances to claim outright second place on the list.
Iwobi made 100 Premier League appearances for Arsenal before joining Everton, where he featured 123 times for the Toffees.
He has also made 106 appearances for Fulham since joining the club in September 2023, taking his overall Premier League tally to 329.
Former Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool defender Kolo Touré currently leads the list with 353 appearances.
Iwobi has expressed his desire to surpass Touré’s record.
“But I'm trying to break the record. I think Kolo Touré is up there, so I'll keep my eyes going forward and see if I can break that,” Iwobi said in an interview with FFC TV.
