Iwobi featured, No Ighalo as Man United dump Everton out of Cup

Alex Iwobi continued his impressive run of games for Everton as he featured in their League Cup quarter-final match against Manchester United at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

Iwobi and his teammates went into the game hoping to make it four wins on a bounce, off the back of victories against Leicester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

However they fell short against Manchester United, who put up a late show to snatch victory and advance to the last four.

Late goals from summer signing  Edinson Cavani and French forward Anthony Martial secured a 2-0 win for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Iwobi’s compatriot Odion Ighalo was not included in Manchester United’s squad for the match.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have now book their place in the semi-finals of the competition and next face Manchester City.
