Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho will be involved in their Premier League game against Leeds United later tonight.

Iheanacho has not enjoyed regular game time this season, with the Northern Irish manager preferring Patson Daka and Jamie Vardy as his strikers.

The Nigerian only made three consecutive appearances for Leicester City (against Tottenham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace) since starting away at Brighton.

Rodgers however revealed in his pre-match press conference that the player will get a chance against Leeds United.

“We have a number of players who can play that position. Kels can come in and do that role. Dennis Praet can play that position well.

“I think it’s whether Kels starts or comes off the bench, he looks to make a contribution. What I know with Kels is he gives everything.”

The Foxes manager stated that he has trust in the player to deliver, adding that he has ability to turn game around.

“He came into the game [against Palace] and was effective in the game. That’s all we want from the guys off the bench. Can they make an impact?” Rodgers posited.

“He did that, he had a couple of runs and a couple of moves within the game. If he starts or if he comes into the game, he can make an impact,” He concluded.
