Odion Ighalo scored for current Asian Champions Al Hilal in their Boxing day Saudi Arabia Pro League club clash against Al Nassr.

It was a clash of 1st (Al Nasr) vs third ( Al Hilal), and three points for Ighalo and his teammates would have seen them replace the leaders at the top of the table.

But the game ended 2-2, with Al Hilal squandering several opportunities to make the leaders pay for their sluggish start.

Al Hilal deservedly went in front through Odion Ighalo inside the opening 10 minutes. The former Manchester United man converted a Luis Vietto’s pass for his sixth goal in nine league games.

The visitors went into the break with the lead, but the game was squared nine minutes after the restart, when Anderson Talisca got the crowd at King Saud international stadium on their feat with the equaliser.

Saudi International Salem El-Dawri restored Al Hilal’s lead in the 65th minute. With two minutes on the clock, Al Hilal went to bed and Abdulrahman Ghareeb gladly punished them, with the leveller for Al Nassr as the game ended 2-2.

The draw means Al Nasr kept their place on top of the league, while Al Hilal stayed in 3rd position.
