I need a striker that can score a minimum of ten goals a season - Maikaba

Coach Abdul Maikaba, is hoping for more reinforcement, following Rangers’ poor showing at the just concluded IMC NPFL Super Cup pre season.

The Flying Antelopes suffer two losses, recorded one draw and scoring just two goals to place last on the log.

It was a disappointing outing from Rangers who spent more time camping than other teams that attended the tournament.

Maikaba however believes event at the preseason tourney is an eye-opener for him and his assistants in the future stressing, the management need to bring in more players.

“We are hopefully going to reinforce the team, especially in the attacking department but getting one is not that easy. We need a striker that can score a minimum of ten goals a season.

“Let me also say that winning a preseason tournament does not depict what will happen in the league properly. Cases abound of preseason champions getting relegated at the end of the season but this is not an excuse for our poor performance at the preseason tournament,” he said.

Rangers finished fifth last season with 56 points from 38 matches.
