Despite his invitation into the England’s U21 squad, Eberechi Eze said he has not closed the door on playing for Nigeria.

Eze was born in England to Nigerian parents and his international future has continued to donate the media in the recent weeks, but the midfielder said he’s only focusing on the task at hand.

“I can still play for Nigeria,” said Eze. “At the moment, I’m focused on my England Under-21 camp. I don’t want to put any type of pressure on myself and try to force anything now.” He said.

“I’m focused on the Under-21s, playing for the Under-21s, training, trying to play as many games as I can, and I think that’s the most important thing right now for my development.” he said.

Eze signed for premier League side Crystal Palace in a £19.5million deal from QPR over the summer.

He scored his first goal for the Eagles in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Leeds and was subsequently named premier league player of the week.
