'I’m against him leaving' — Getafe boss warns club against selling Uche

Getafe manager José Bordalás has warned the club against the potential transfer of Nigerian international Christiantus Uche away from the team.

Uche has become a subject of transfer speculation this summer following his decent campaign with the Azulones last season.

The 22-year-old registered four goals and six assists for Getafe in his debut season.

Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on a move for the Super Eagles midfielder.

Wolves have reportedly submitted a €20 million bid for Uche, who has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal with the Premier League club.

Speaking after Getafe's crucial victory over Sevilla on Monday night, Bordalás emphasized Uche's importance to the team.

“Let’s hope he doesn’t leave. I’m against him leaving; he’s a very important player, and this becomes more difficult every day,” Bordalás told the press after the game.

“If Uche leaves, we have a very serious problem.

“We can’t be at the mercy of selling a player as important as Uche.”
