President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick has said that he won’t be contesting for a third term after his tenure expires next month, September 2022.

Pinnick has since served two terms in office as NFF President after been elected in 2014.

Rumours had it that Pinnick, who is also a member of the FIFA executive council committee would be running for a third term.

However, speaking in an interview on Arise TV on Monday, August 15, Pinnick revealed that he will only be in a position to intervene, not interfere during the process of electing a new President.

“There are so many Nigerians capable of being there (NFF boss). I will assist and work with anyone who wins the elections and emerge as president.

"That I promise. I will intervene but will not interfere," he said.
