'I am Innocent' - Oladapo cries out after CAF ban

Enyimba’s captain Austin Oladapo claimed he’s innocent and will contest CAF decisions to impose one year ban on him.

CAF announced on Tuesday that Oladapo has been suspended from all football-related activities for one year after testing positive for banned substances.

The African Football Governing Body revealed that the midfielder tested positive to prednisolone/prednisone after Enyimba’s CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final match against Pyramids of Egypt in May.

Reacting to the news, Oladapo said the news came as a shock to him and he’s determined to clear his name.

"I’ve been in shock since the news got to me. If I were guilty I wouldn’t bother, but this outcome is a big surprise.

“Even before the test, the club doctor stated the drug I was administered and so it is shocking they didn’t acknowledge our doctor had informed them ahead of the test,” he told brila.net.

Oladapo scored three goals for the Aba Elephants in the Competition as Enyimba exited the competition in the last eight.
