Palace returned to winning ways in the Premier League thanks to their hard fought win against Erik ten Hag’s men.

Prior to Saturday’s league clash, United had eliminated Palace in the Carabao Cup thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win.

But the London club avenged the Cup defeat as Joachim Andersen’s 25th minute strike sealed the three points.

According to the organisers of the English topflight, Premier League, Palace’s win against United means Hodgson is the first manager to go five consecutive League matches unbeaten at Old Trafford.

The 76-year-old has recorded three wins and two draws in his last five games at Theater of Dreams.

The defeat leaves United in 10th position on nine points while Palace move up to ninth on 11 points.

Hodgson has managed 22 different teams in eight countries, beginning in Sweden with Halmstads BK in the 1976 season.

He later guided the Switzerland national team to the last 16 of the 1994 World Cup and qualification for Euro 1996; Switzerland had not qualified for a major tournament since the 1960s.

From 2006 to 2007, he managed the Finland national team, guiding them to their highest-ever FIFA ranking of 33rd place and coming close to qualifying for a major tournament for the first time in their history.

He was in charge of the England national team from May 2012 to June 2016 and guided them to the 2014 World Cup and 2016 European Championship.

Other clubs that Hodgson has managed include Inter Milan, Blackburn Rovers, Malmö FF, Grasshoppers, FC Copenhagen, Udinese, Fulham, Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion, and Watford.
