Ajax head coach Míchel Sánchez has lavished praise on Tolu Arokodare after the Super Eagles striker starred for the Dutch side in their UEFA Europa League play-off clash against Swiss club Sion.
The 25-year-old made an instant impact after coming off the bench for the Eredivisie side in their 4-2 victory on Thursday night.
Arokodare made his mark after his introduction in the 72nd minute, replacing Marcos Leonardo.
The former Genk striker scored Ajax's third goal of the game less than two minutes after coming on and later teed up Davy Klaassen for their fourth goal with three minutes left on the clock.
Arokodare's impressive cameo has earned him plaudits from manager Míchel Sánchez.
“Tolu brought a lot of energy when he came on. He works hard, he scores and he helps us,” Míchel told Ajax Life, per Goal.
“He has a good character. I think he is a nice boy. I hope he keeps helping us in this way.”
Arokodare will be hoping to replicate his performance when Ajax host Sion in the second leg on Thursday, August 27, at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
